America’s Natural Gas Alliance

America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) was a short-lived natural gas trade association that promoted the use of shale gas and attempted to deflect worries about climate change. The group formed in 2009 and ceased operations in late 2015 when it merged with the American Petroleum Institute. During ANGA’s tenure, their highest paid PR contract was with the Glover Park Group (GPG).

For the #ThinkAboutIt campaign, ANGA promoted a short video that emphasized how natural gas can help combat climate change, claiming that natural gas power plants “help make renewable energy more viable.”

The American Petroleum Institute is now responsible for the Think About It campaign.

An advertisement from the Think About It campaign titled “Florida Power & Light – Think About It.”

ANGA 990s: 2008 (n/a), 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 (defunct)
